 The 1st Vermont Infantry Regiment received its flag on May 8th 1861 at Rutland and was manufactured by Frederick Somerby in white silk with the state coat of arms painted on the obverse.

It is part of the Vermont Civil War Flag Collection of the Vermont Historical Society. (Identifier 1870.002.018).
