The 1806 regulations did not indicate the colours of the cuff flaps and piping, therefore the are a number of variations on those items.

Grenadiers wore thier distinctive ewd epaulettes and red cloth grenades on the turnbacks.

You can notice on the illustrations done by the "Otto manuscript" artist that both the grenadier and th voltigeur have no buttons on the right side bellow the lapel. This is a proof of the meticulous observation done by the artist when reproducing the uniforms in the plates as th Regiment's Commander have had eliminated them from the uniforms as pointed out by Rigo.

The voltigeur in the "Otto manuscript" has the three buttons on the cuff flap missing. It may be an omission by the artist but as it happened with the three buttons below the right lapel, this could have been a particular circunstance at the time the drawings took place.

The uniform regulation allowed collars to be in the color of the regimental distinction but, as seen by the manuscript's artist, the yellor or "chamois" collar was commonly wore by light companies.

Green epaulettes were not only not authorized but at one point in 1807 it was forbidden the usage of regimental funds to purchase such items.

"Chasseur" horns" cut on yellow cloth was sewn on each turnback.

The reproduction onf the "Otto manuscript" uniforms can be seen at the bottom of this page.

The 3rd regiment had sapperus since 1804. Their uniforms were very distinctive from the ones ot the rest of the regiment, both when the unit was dressed in blue tunics but particularly when they wore the white ones.

Sky blue jackets with red collars, lapels and cuffs, all of them piped in white. Turnbacks were also in the facing colour and also the lining.

The distinctive crossed axes wore on the sleeves were cut of red cloth and the grenades on the turnback of chamois cloth.
