During the Napoleonic Wars, British regiments had a distinctive way of framing the buttons with lace. The lace was arranged in different styles, singles or paired, square or pointed, and woven from different coloured thread. Below you can see a reproduction of them with the unique combination of thread colours and pattern for each of them. |
